Fives DTS is looking for a Quality Engineer in the Auburn Hills, MI area.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • As a Quality Engineer, you will function as technical liaison between engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to support quality issues, monitor advanced quality planning, and provide technical support. This role will be assessing the correctness of wiring harnesses.
Job Description:
  • Update GMNA leadership on status of containment and resolution
  • Support PSDS launch activities for new programs, including reworks at supplier's warehouse
  • Support the timely regional SQ involvement to address Emerging Issues and PPO/plant disruptions
  • Gather support information for robust SPPS documentation for quality
  • Help analyze cause of supplier quality problems and supports effective and timely resolutions
  • Reviewing and approving supplier quality plans for new component parts and assemblies for new vehicle and or powertrain programs
  • Reviewing supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems
Qualifications:
  • Ten plus years' OEM or Tier 1 experience in automotive interior, exterior, body, chassis, electrical or powertrain quality, manufacturing or engineering functions, including demonstrated experience and capability in any of the following areas:
    • Lean Manufacturing and or Manufacturing Quality
    • Manufacturing, Process and or Tool Engineering
    • Quality Systems Planning (APQP), including PPAP
    • Statistical Problem Solving (Red X, DFSS, DMAIC)
    • Product Engineering
  • 3 to 5 years in experience highly desired/preferred in wiring
  • Proficient in print reading and interpretation, part measurement, gage design and function
  • Demonstrated knowledge of geometric design and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing and assembly plant processes, procedures, tooling, equipment, and facilities
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Manufacturing, Welding, Plastics, Materials, or Chemical preferred) or equivalent technical experience required
  • Master's degree in Business or Engineering is highly preferred
