Position Overview: We are recruiting on behalf of a major construction company for an Electrical Estimator to join their team in Evansville, Indiana. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for various construction projects, collaborating closely with the Estimating Manager, and managing the bidding process to secure competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical estimating, familiarity with industry software, and a keen attention to detail.

Work Schedule: 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for conceptual, design-build, and general tender work, including project closings, by calculating materials, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Bid Management: Review project data to determine material and labor requirements and create detailed itemized lists. Draft requests for quotations to secure competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Software Utilization: Use estimating software, such as Accubid Classic or Anywhere, to perform precise cost calculations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Estimating Manager to establish indirect costs and overheads, ensuring accurate and competitive bids.
Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university (preferred).
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 2 years of electrical estimating experience in the electrical contracting industry.
    • Experience in developing electrical service quotes/estimates in a similar role.
  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
    • Knowledge of Accubid Estimating Software.
    • Strong understanding of electrical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
    • Familiarity with electrical sub-trades scope of work.
