Required: - MA License required and maintained - ARRT required - Advanced CT registration required - Ideal candidate would possess at least three years of experience within a CT Department - CPR/BLS certification required - IV skills preferred - Contrast utilization - Completion of a medical imaging program Preferred: · Knowledge of anatomy, cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, medical terminology · Knowledge of the principles of radiation physics · Knowledge of radiographic positioning and radiographic equipment · Acquires and maintains knowledge of related topics to include, but not limited to radiation safety, universal precaution, disposal of contaminated material, proper handling of requisitions (both before and after procedure) · Effective interpersonal and communications skills both verbal and written Ability to work in fast paced environment s including computer documentation and direct patient care. · Ability to recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately by using judgement and quick decision making. · Must possess the ability to assess patient specific data relative to age-specific needs and provide appropriate care. · Maintains a high standard of professionalism at all times. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. P erforms quality CT scans, per clinical protocol, for Radiologist review and interpretation 2. K eeps current in knowledge of state-of-the-art imaging equipment and technology 3. M ust maintain compliance with all new procedures/policies within the CT Department 4. S upports referring departments by acting as a resource for clinicalexpertise pertaining to CT modality. 5. HIPAA awareness and compliance with emphasis on respect of the patients’ right to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality 6. A lways demonstrates professionalism towards patients and their families as well as fellow employees 7. K eeps work areas organized and neat 8. M aintains inventory of exam room, maintains a clean and safe working environment. 9. A dheres to PPE and infection control requirements. 10. P erforms all other duties as assigned. Technical/Clinical Duties and Responsibilities: 1. P erforms CT exams per department, facility, and ACR standards 2. C onducts equipment warm up and Quality Control procedures according to operating procedures established by manufacture’s guidelines to ensure effective, calibrated, and safe operation. 3. I nforms appropriate personnel when problem in equipment exits, calls service engineers when repair is indicated 4. C onfirms exam requisition orders and consults with Radiologist for detailed protocols per patient exam indication, as needed. 5. P roperly identifies and escorts patient to CT scanner; assists patient onto scanner; reviews exam screening questionnaire; ensures lab values are within protocol limits, checks for proper IV placement and patency when indicated, positions patient for study, explains procedure, ability to answer questions. 6. F ollows exam protocols to match each patient’s age, disease and body habitus 7. E nters pertinent information relating to patient and scan specifics into computer, directs specific operation of scan during procedure 8. S ets up necessary supplies/equipment for administration and delivery of IV solution and contrast agents as per departmental policy 9. M onitors patient condition during and immediately post scan with ability to identify complications or adverse reactions. 10. P erforms quality CT scans, per clinical protocol, for Radiologist’s review and interpretation. 11. E nsures images are transmitted to PACS in entirety. 12. C ompletes exam in EMR and completes appropriate clinical notes in patient chart. Hours: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm or 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through FridayRecruiter: MacIver, Christine
