Essential Job Functions:
- Perform CT scans for diagnostic interpretation, including biopsies, cardiac CT, CT angiograms, and post-processing.
- Operate CT equipment, select technical factors, and ensure proper image identification.
- Ensure patient safety and provide radiation protection for all involved.
- Assist with MD and interim order management, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
- Coordinate post-hospitalization discharge planning and care visits.
- Maintain clinical records, ensuring all images and data are securely filed.
- Assist in training and orienting fellow staff technologists.
- Participate in on-call duties, including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Technical Diploma in Radiology required.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Current CT certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) within 12 months of hire.
- Current CPR certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
- Experience:
- Pediatric experience preferred but not required.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of CT imaging techniques, PACS, and radiology information systems (RIS).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality practices.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, and move patients and equipment (up to 50+ lbs).
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks regularly.
- Ability to work with machines, chemicals, and potential radiation hazards.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to biological, infectious, and hazardous materials.
- Work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and other potential environmental factors.
