Location : Zelienople, PA

Duration : 4 Months Contract

Position Summary:

  • The Lead Logistics Specialist is responsible for ensuring all Service shipments of finished products and/or raw materials are processed, packaged, and shipped according to local requirements and product specification. In addition, the Lead Logistics Specialist will ensure work priorities are established and warehouse personnel are meeting and following procedures and safety practices.

Other key requirements:

  • Responsible for transferring raw material and finished goods to appropriate service inventory locations.
  • Ensures Service Max work order components are pulled in a timely manner including data entry into the ERP system. 
  • Utilizes Lean principles to develop product staging and warehouse stocking strategies to maximize floor space.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Preparing the storeroom for annual physical inventories,
  • General maintenance to existing tools, equipment, and recommending new equipment purchases. 
  • Operate material handling and associated equipment. 
  • Routine work includes management of picking customer orders and preparing them for shipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • May participate with the development of packaging and shipping instructions for new products or processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires:

  • A high school education with 3 years’ experience in a warehouse and shipping environment.
  • Good analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Working knowledge of ERP system.
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to regularly lift in excess of 50 pounds.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

  • Solid PC and computer application skills using Microsoft office (MS Office suite)
  • Experience with international shipping requirements
  • Ability to work Overtime if required
  • Dangerous Goods Certification
  • The incumbent must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the duties and responsibilities.

Training Requirements:      

  • Training requirements are maintained in the Training Needs by Job Description Matrix.  The controlled master is located in the Document Control Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The following duties and responsibilities are intended to be representative of the work performed by the incumbent(s) in this position and are not all-inclusive.

  • Group lead for the department.
  • Transfers approved raw material to appropriate warehouse locations.
  • Issue raw material from the warehouse to the service depot floor.
  • Ensures the flow of product from preparation to shipment is filled completely, accurately, quality and condition of shipment performed within a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate shipping records and changes
  • Review Bill of Lading for accuracy
  • Corresponds with carrier to rectify damages and shortages
  • Perform data entry in the ERP system for all material received or issued from the warehouse
  • Meet with the Service Inventory Specialist to plan material issues from the warehouse
  • Keep storeroom neat and orderly.
  • Advise Inventory/Logistics Manager and/or Inventory Specialist of any large material variances.
  • Relieve material shortages to the production floor.
  • Prepare storeroom for annual physical inventory and assist in pre-count efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge of medical products.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • General FDA and GMP knowledge.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Good communication skills. 
  • Experience with ERP system, SAP, JDE, MfgPro or other

Organizational Relationship:

  • This position reports to the Service and Repair Inventory/Logistics Manager.

Physical Demands:

  • Employee may be required to sit, bend, stoop, use keyboard, walk and stand on concrete surface for extended periods. May occasionally lift objects up to 25 lbs.
