This role focuses on integrating security into every stage of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) while enhancing the efficiency and reliability of NATO’s digital platforms. As a DevSecOps Engineer, you’ll implement and manage a security-first DevOps framework, supporting NATO’s mission by developing automated security solutions that align with NATO’s high-security standards.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Security Integration: Implement security measures throughout the SDLC, including threat modeling, code reviews, and vulnerability assessments, while supporting automated testing and secure code deployment.
- Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines that incorporate security checks at every stage, ensuring rapid, secure, and compliant software deployment.
- Monitoring & Response: Manage security monitoring tools, responding swiftly to incidents and adapting defenses based on real-time data. Develop incident response plans to address potential threats.
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with NATO’s developers, IT, and cybersecurity teams to integrate secure coding practices and support the continuous improvement of security protocols.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain comprehensive documentation of security measures and configurations, ensuring compliance with NATO standards and enhancing system resilience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in DevSecOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker), programming languages (Python, Bash), and security scanning tools (e.g., SonarQube, Fortify).
- Experience: 5+ years in DevSecOps or related roles within secure, multinational, or defense environments. Experience with IaC tools (e.g., Terraform) and security monitoring solutions is highly desirable.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Information Systems Security Professional - CISSP) are a plus.
- Security Clearance: active Secret clearance
