SENIOR ELECTRICAL SUPERINTENDENT

SUMMARY 

The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing field electrical construction activities, general safety, productivity, schedule, quality work, coordination with other superintendent and project leaders on the jobsite. This position reports to the Senior General Superintendent Electrical and or another management personnel that the CEO may designate. This position reports to the assigned jobsite office but will maintain a hybrid schedule of working out of their home office and the jobsite office. Working hours are project specific and will be set with each project. This position is expected to travel 75%, or as needed for the project.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
 

  • Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position
  • Oversees solar/construction personnel and/or installation subcontractors to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
  • Coordination of personnel, material, and equipment needed to meet schedules
  • Support the team with planning and utilization of proper means and methods for activities
  • Analyze situations, identify and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options; and recommend/implement appropriate course of action
  • Follow and implement the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental Policy
  • Coordinate and implement resources and activities necessary to maintain a safe and quality execution
  • Assure all work undertaken is within approved scope boundaries and is in full compliance
  • Coordination with supplier materials / testing 
  • Advise site teams and subcontractors on paperwork needed / collected to support QA teams 
  • Identify testing required per projects scope of work   
  • Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned by Management

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of professional experience supporting the constructions of major projects, preferably in the building of power stations or supply networks, or other utility-scale construction projects 
  • Solar PV, wind power or BESS project experience, preferred 
  • Willingness to travel 
  • Excellent skills in MS Project or comparable project management tool, and possess strong technical aptitude, including knowledge of software development methodologies and processes 
  • Strong in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Fluent in written and spoken English 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Experience reviewing electrical and mechanical manuals of installation and design technical packages  
  • Assertive, able to cope with pressure, a team player 
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines 
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner  
  • May have to interact with Owner’s Field Representative and outside agencies 
  • Experience operating solar power plants and equipment  
  • Supervise entire electrical subcontractor scopes 
  • Cable installation and termination (AC/DC/MV/Fiber)
  • CAB System and Combiner Box installation  
  • Module-to-module series connection (Plug and Play) 
  • Harness installation 
  • SCADA, MET station Aux rack installation 
  • Temporary and permanent power connection for substation and office trailers 
  • Travel: up to 75%, or as needed for the project

EXAMPLES OF PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

  • Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.)
  • Able to walk or move continuously while carrying 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.) Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties.
  • Requires repetitive movement

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, geographic location, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications. If candidates are considered for a nationwide role, then the compensation range will follow the marketability of the job function within those states.
