We are seeking a skilled and motivated Labor and Employment Attorney with 2-5 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a specialization in benefits law, including ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act), health and welfare plans, and executive compensation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise and represent clients on complex labor and employment matters, with a focus on benefits law.
- Counsel clients on the design, implementation, and compliance of retirement plans, health and welfare benefits, and executive compensation packages.
- Provide strategic guidance on ERISA compliance, fiduciary responsibilities, and employee benefits-related litigation.
- Draft, review, and negotiate benefits plan documents, policies, and contracts.
- Conduct legal research on emerging issues in benefits law, including legislative and regulatory changes.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop effective legal strategies.
- Represent clients in administrative proceedings and disputes with government agencies, including the Department of Labor (DOL) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
- Provide training and updates to clients on changes in benefits law and regulations.
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission Missouri State Bar
- 2-5 years of experience practicing labor and employment law, with a focus on employee benefits law (ERISA, health and welfare plans, etc.).
- Strong understanding of benefits laws, including ERISA, the Affordable Care Act (ACA), COBRA, and other related regulations.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills.
- Experience with the negotiation and drafting of employee benefits plan documents.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a collaborative team.
