Job Summary
- The Quality Engineer II is responsible for maintaining SiTime's Quality management system used in the design and manufacturing of SiTime's revolutionary MEMS-based timing products. Responsibilities include maintaining various process like internal audits, corrective actions, continuous improvements, non-conforming process, customer notifications and other applicable quality processes tied to the maintenance of a robust quality management system.
- It is not necessary to meet all job requirements to be a qualified candidate for the position.
- Own quality management system and maintains quality certifications (Ex: ISO9001) for the organization.
- Prepare for compliances on other industry standards like IATF16949/MIL PRF 55310 (as applicable).
- Manage documents and records control processes (using existing tools).
- Work with Doc Control software company to enhance the functionality of the database and its application. Upon validation, release plan for transfer is created and executed.
- Create Internal audit plan at SiTime across all offices, perform audits and tracks the audit findings to closure.
- Create a training platform/scheme (by creating training modules) to internal teams on various aspects like ISO9001 standards, performing internal audits, responses to corrective actions, FMEA's, PPAP's, etc so that they are self-taught and recurring frequency defined.
- Own customer notification processes (PCN) for any product/process changes (using customer requirements, JEDEC and AECQ guidelines)
- Responsibility starts from creation of PCN till shipment of updated product and ends with confirmation from customers that the updated product has no issues.
- Lead the material review board (MRB) to ensure that non-conforming process is robust.
- Process ownership starts from identified non-conformance to closure of MRB form and extends to ensuring that actions taken are effective (post implementation).
- Champion the internal and supplier corrective action / continuous improvement process.
- Re-validation of effectiveness on actions taken, post implementation (Ex: 3 mo's or 6 mo's after) is an important deliverable.
- Create and maintain metrics for processes (like PCN's, CA/CI, IA, MRB, etc) and make decisions based on data,
- Responsibility includes choosing metrics by understanding the pain points and bench-marking the goals with current industry practice which provides avenues for improvement activities.
- Creation of high impact presentations to identify trends and key takeaways.
- Work with stakeholders to create improvement activities and track them to closure. Ensuring effectiveness of actions taken post implementation (Ex: 3 mo's or 6 mo's after) is an important deliverable.
- Automate internal processes (applicable processes that support QMS) to be efficient and effective.
- Develop methods to automate information/data availability on SiTime's web site by working cross functionally.
- Ownership of all KPI's for Operations
- Ensure that the right metrics are monitored.
- Work with process owners to identify goals (by bench marking and using industry practice) and if they are not met, action items are identified and tracked to closure.
- Minimum BS degree (MS degree is a plus) in electrical engineering, quality, or related technical discipline.
- Background in semiconductor manufacturing processes (Ex: Wafer fab, Package assembly, Test) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management system processes.
- Knowledge of CMOS and MEMS (Micro Electro-Mechanical Systems) devices is a plus.
- Expert level knowledge in ISO9001 and applicable JEDEC standards like JEDEC46, etc. is preferred. Working knowledge in IATF16949 in a huge plus.
- Excellent proficiency with structured problem-solving methodologies (Ex: 8D problem solving, Fish bone analysis, 5-Why, Is/Is-Not analysis, etc.).
- High level of self-motivation and drive to make an impact.
- Desire to actively learn.
- Strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills are required.
- Be able to work well with multi-functional teams in resolving issues.
- Strong attention to detail, project management and organization skills, and ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
