Electrical Superintendent - Mission Critical
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Mission Critical Electrical Superintendent is responsible for
field operations on the project(s) assigned in order to achieve timely and
profitable completion of each project. The Superintendent directly supervises
field labor force, including laborers/craft workers. This position must
demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as
well as strong communication and client service skills.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSABILITES:
- Assist with the Pre-Construction/Estimating phase of the project including quantity take off.
- Mobilize the site including quantifying temporary electrical service needs. Coordinate the installation of temporary electrical service, site utilities and site facilities.
- Develop and maintain a site logistics plan in coordination with Project Manager
- Ensure necessary permits are secured
- Review trade contractor pre-work requirements are complete
- Manage the project master schedule, look ahead schedule and any pull planning schedules to ensure all activities take place on or ahead of contractually scheduled dates
- Direct and supervise day-to-day on-site field labor force.
- Manage all High and Medium Voltage Electrical Distribution and Equipment installation, start up and commissioning
- Support VDC/BIM efforts coordinating electrical pathways
- Coordinate electrical distribution systems shutdowns including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and re-energization.
- Assist with Short Circuit and Arc Flash (SCAAF) coordination and field implementation.
- Ensure Power Management Systems (PMS) and Building Management Systems (BMS) are communicating as designed
- Write and review Methods of Procedures (MOPs) for work permitting process
- Manage quality program and document all quality assurance and quality control steps are followed.
- Coordinate site electrical testing and inspection efforts including all NECA and NETA required tests.
- Ensure all inspections by Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) occur in accordance with the project schedule
- Monitor project costs, including labor time review and material invoices
- Review cost reports to assure they reflect accurate quantities and work put in place
- Review and approve Trade Contractor Payment Applications with Project Manager
- Maintain good relationships with internal and external clients, including Owner representatives and Architects/Engineers
- Mentor and provide quarterly career feedback to team members
- Ensure an Incident and Injury-Free Environment through own actions, mentoring others and leading safety initiatives
- Attend and participate in project meetings, including leading weekly subcontractor meetings and daily safety/preparatory meetings
- Verify final record drawings are accurate
- Review and verify all Requests for Information (RFIs)
- Review submittals for conformance with project requirements
- Create detailed daily reports including photographic documentation of all construction activities on site
- Other duties assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree- Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent. May substitute required education degree with related experience on a one-to-one basis
- 8 years of electrical industry experience
- Experience with hyperscale mission critical construction
