EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: • Completion of an Associate’s Degree or Certificate from a recognized Echocardiography Program or the equivalent knowledge and experience is required. • CPR/BLS certification is also required. • RDCS (AE and/or PE) certification by the ARDMS/CC I. EXPERIENCE: • 1-2 years clinical and/or professional experience preferred. • Experience with both adults and pediatrics is preferred. #LI-OnSite * Note: This is a temporary 3-month assignment; 40 hours per week. PURPOSE OF YOUR JOB DESCRIPTION: The primary purpose of your job is to perform all patient exams with the highest degree of skill, fully utilizing all echocardiography equipment to consistently obtain images that demonstrate diagnostic levels of contrast and resolution. You will respond to on-demand requests for services in a timely manner. JOB FUNCTIONS: Every effort has been made to make your job description as complete as possible. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or is a logical assignment to the position. - Demonstrates commitment to performing a high-quality diagnostic echocardiogram - Adheres to all echo laboratory protocols/procedures. - Is proficient with all applicable equipment and functionality - Understands reason for echo and tailors the echocardiogram appropriately - Demonstrates knowledge of pathology as assessed by echocardiography. - Evaluate any contraindications, insufficient patient preparation, and the patient’s inability or unwillingness to tolerate the examination and associated procedures. - Recognizes when there are critical findings which require urgent read/intervention for patient and acts promptly. - Ensure that the echocardiography order is complete, contains relevant information, and meets the standard of medical necessity. - Assures all areas are clean and orderly and supplies are maintained for all exams and procedures. - Provides all services to patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner. - Cooperates and promotes team efforts with co-workers and members of the hospital staff. - Utilizes departmental and hospital information systems as necessary for patient care. - Exercises initiative and actively participation in the reception area, film library and transport functions. - Improves performance through education. Maintains required continuing education credits. - Provides patient care appropriately to the following age groups: - Neonate – Birth to 1 month - Infant – 1 month – 1 year - Early childhood – 1 yr. – 5 yrs. - Late Childhood - 8 yrs – 12 yrs. - Adolescence - 13 yrs. – 17 yrs. - Young Adult - 18 yrs. – 25 yrs. - Adult - 26 yrs. – 54 yrs. - Sr. Adult - 55 yrs. – 64 yrs. - Geriatric - 64 yrs. - above #LI-On SiteRecruiter: Klapatch, Maria A
