Journey Center for Safety and Healing's Grants Coordinator/Lead Grants Coordinator is responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage the grants program with government, foundation, and corporate sources. Also provides support to the Development Department with other projects as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Write proposals and applications for both unrestricted operating revenue and restricted projects to foundations, corporations, and government sources
  2. Submit timely and accurate reports for all grant funded projects
  3. Research new sources of public and private grant funding
  4. Work with appropriate staff on grant narratives, goals, outcomes, and updates bi-annually and/or as needed
  5. Work with finance to gather information necessary to report to funders
  6. Obtain grant results, data, and narrative from program staff for grant reports
  7. Create and maintain grant/report schedule, deadlines, progress and awards
  8. Maintain accurate foundation records and contact information in databases
  9. Provide stewardship to grant funders outside the scope of grant requirements (recognition, updates on agency work)
  10. Encourage site visits with appropriate Journey Center staff and potential funders
  11. Assist with other fundraising and marketing projects as needed
  12. Professionally and effectively work with other departments, donors, and community
  13. Communicate regularly with other personnel in the Development Department
  14. Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed or directed
  15. Speak publicly regarding the agency and its services as needed
  1. Responsible for fiscal aspects including, but not limited to:
    1. Understand the agency budget and program budget
    2. Read and understand a program P&L including budget variances
    3. Understand administrative overhead
    4. Understand program funding sources and corresponding program and funding compliance with Finance team

  3. Assume other responsibilities and duties as directed or assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND SALARY

Journey will hire either a Grants Coordinator or a Lead Grants Coordinator, depending on the candidate's experience.

Lead Grants Coordinator:
  1. Three or more years of relevant experience required. Preference for candidates with government grant experience.
  2. Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.
  3. Must have and maintain a valid Ohio driver's license and appropriate insurance coverage; must maintain an appropriate driving record.
  4. Salary: $46,000 - $50,000

  6. Must be able to demonstrate advanced competency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Power Point
  7. Must be able to understand and demonstrate skills in database administration and report generation
  8. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  9. Must be able to work within deadlines
  10. Must have the capability of having a flexible schedule to meet the needs of Journey Center events and activities
  11. Maintain a positive attitude
  12. Thorough knowledge of rules, regulations, functions, procedures, organization, and policies governing the operations of Journey Center for Safety and Healing
