POSITION PURPOSE: To assemble, rework, and repair assemblies using customer drawings and visual aids in accordance with customer requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assembles, reworks, and repairs electro-mechanical assemblies by crimping, screwing, and means necessary to ensure product delivery meets customers requirements. Follow traveler, customer-supplied documentation, or instructions from supervisor for direction. Checks work periodically and upon completion to ensure accuracy. Send product for 1st piece and final inspection prior to shipment. Participates in attaining departmental goals and objectives by performing job requirements at the highest level of accuracy. Works in a productive and efficient manner so the production schedules of the Company are met. Works with other departments, as needed, to ensure customer product requirements are met. Performs job duties in compliance with the Companys Quality System. Participates in internal and external Quality System audits as needed. Makes process improvement recommendations as appropriate. Communicates equipment maintenance needs to the Electro-Mechanical Assembly Group Leader. Maintains an organized and neat work area. Assembles cable bundles and kits using drawings and measuring devices. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum: One (1) year experience as an Assembler or related work in an electronic contract manufacturing organization, electronic high tech or related industry. Preferred: Three (3) years experience as an Assembler or related experience in an electronic contract manufacturing organization, electronic high tech or related industry. Diploma or GED from an accredited high school or technical school. JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Able to read schematics and electronic assembly drawings. Able to differentiate electronic components and parts. Able to read and interpret customer requirements from various customer-supplied formats. Able to understand cable and harness assembly methods after instruction is provided. Excellent cable and harness assembly techniques. Excellent crimping techniques. IPC-A-610 or IPC-A-620 certification a plus. Demonstrated effective analysis and corrective action implementation techniques. Strong organizational skills. Able to speak, read, write and understand English as it relates to performing job requirements. Occasionally required lift, carry or otherwise transport assemblies weighing up to 50 pounds. Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend and walk about the building. May be required to push and or pull carts with wheels containing product being moved about the building. Moderate physical effort required. Continuous mental and visual attention required. Use of magnifying lights and other magnifying aids may be required. Use of handheld and or machine operated electronic assembly tools and measuring equipment is required. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Eye protection as required. Gloves as required. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works in a climate-controlled assembly facility with little to no noise. OTHER: Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
