JOB DESCRIPTION
- Mechanical Engineer. Pace Packaging, LLC. Fairfield, NJ. Develop, design, and implement new product designs. Create new designs, modify existing designs, and provide technical support to operations and customers. Develop machine drawings, 3D modeling, assembly and detail drawings. Manage projects from concept to FAT (Factory Acceptance Test). Interface with manufacturing to ensure parts are properly fabricated, machined, and assembled. Interface with other departments e.g., controls, parts, purchasing, etc., to coordinate work/projects and ensure customer on-time delivery. Create and maintain Bill of Materials both on drawings and in Syteline. Create, document and manage engineering change notices thru entire process. Identify and size commercial components according to calculations/theoretical requirements. Complete mechanical engineering designs by calculating operational parameters such as speeds, gear ratios, drives, torques, velocities, etc. Create detail drawings for unique parts producing all drawings required by the fabrication department or an outside vendor to manufacture components of our systems.
3 years of experience as Mechanical Engineer, Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, CAD Engineer, Simulation Engineer, or related engineering role focused on mechanical design. 18 months of experience with engineering, design and fabrication of high-speed automated machinery. 18 months of experience with AutoCAD and Solidworks. Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar engineering or technical degree (In lieu of the Master’s degree, will accept Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in the same fields of study followed by 5 years of progressive, post-grad experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, CAD Engineer, Simulation Engineer, or related engineering role focused on mechanical design).
