Job Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities in a high-volume manufacturing setting of 600,000 square feet that includes 2,000-ton stamping, press brake, laser cutting, 5-axis laser machining, e-coating, powder coating, CNC machining, and assembly operations. This role ensures that all equipment and facilities are maintained in optimal working condition to support production efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance schedule (preventative and continuous) for all equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum production efficiency.
- Coordinate with production management to schedule preventive maintenance activities to minimize disruptions.
- Consistently communicate and oversee external maintenance visits to ensure quality services have been provided.
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians and engineers.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for the maintenance team.
- Ensure the proper functioning of all manufacturing equipment, including 2,000-ton stamping presses, press brakes, laser cutters, 5-axis lasers, e-coating, powder coating systems, CNC machines, and assembly lines.
- Oversee the installation, repair, and upkeep of machinery and mechanical systems.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and spare parts, ensuring critical components are always in stock.
- Work with suppliers to procure necessary parts and services in a cost-effective and timely manner.
- Develop and manage the maintenance department budget, including labor, materials, and capital expenditures.
- Monitor and control maintenance costs, implementing cost-saving measures where possible.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and equipment manuals.
- Prepare regular reports on maintenance performance, equipment reliability, and downtime analysis.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance management experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on stamping, CNC machining, and coating processes.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and CMMS systems.
- Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in industrial maintenance.
- Understanding of PLCs, motor control circuits, and other automated systems used in manufacturing environments.
Certifications:
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or similar certification preferred.
Working Conditions:
- This position requires working in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to machinery, noise, and other industrial hazards. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and parts.
- Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
