Job Description

This position is responsible for providing programming support for the assembly of electronic circuit card assemblies and electronic 'box build' assemblies to help ensure optimal production flow of product.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience/Requirements:
  • Minimum three years of process engineering experience with electronic components and assemblies in a high reliability industry
  • Possess an in-depth understanding of high-mix/low-volume manufacturing
  • Hands on technical experience with SMT processes, soldering and testing requirements
  • Knowledgeable with PCB Assembly Design for Manufacturability
  • Hands-on experience with electromechanical assembly processes
  • Experience designing box build cell layouts
  • Experience with document collection, hardware hierarchy and specification reviews with customers
  • Knowledge of data collection and statistical techniques including ability to implement Statistical Process Control
  • Knowledgeable of Lean/Six Sigma principles and application methods
  • Knowledge of continuous flow manufacturing using Lean techniques
  • Experience with implementing Lean tools/methods (Standard work, 5S, cells, TPM, 1 piece flow, Set Up reduction, Poka Yoke)
  • Experience with process improvement changes through Kaizen or other focused methods
  • Familiarity with work standards and visual manufacturing instructions
  • Experience working with MRP systems and inventory availability analysis
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team building skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Inter, intra-department and external contact required
  • Possess or have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government granted security clearance
Job Requirements
  • Develops programs for Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), Automated X-Ray Inspection (AXI), and Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) for equipment utilized in the production process
  • Responsible for monitoring, evaluating, or improving the performance of all manufacturing equipment through programming
  • Assists with preparing and issuing manufacturing work instructions related to product changes or new products, processes or methods specifying sequence of operations and standard work for manufacturing processes
  • Reviews new product requirements with design staff or customer to ensure DFx and compatibility of processing methods
  • Partners with Quality Engineers to review and analyze defect/yield data; coordinates root cause and corrective actions using appropriate tools/methodologies
  • Supports engineering continuous improvement efforts
  • Generates procedures and other process documentation
  • Analyzes reports and recommends corrective action
  • Evaluates new quality standards as required
