Overview:
Under direction, the Senior Analyst-Compensation provides professional and administrative support to the Ministry Physician Compensation function. Provides compensation services for designated Mercy client departments on a regional or ministry-wide basis. Serves a project lead on large scale initiatives. Administers selected compensation programs and functions. Makes difficult compensation related decisions regarding unusual, complex and challenging issues and initiates or recommends appropriate actions. Interprets and enforces compensation and HR policies and practices. Maintains confidentiality of personnel information and exhibits independent judgment and decision making. Performs all work in accordance with Mercys mission, vision, values and service standards.
Qualifications:
- EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in human resources, business, finance or related field or equivalent experience.
- EXPERIENCE: Four years of experience analyzing/managing data using spreadsheets and other data management tools. Working in a human resources environment preferred.
- OTHER SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Solid technical and analytical ability using spreadsheet, database and ERP systems and software required.
- Must be able to work independently under general supervision.
- Must be able to analyze data, interpret findings and recommend actions.
- Must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills that allow this analyst to effective support Compensation and HR ministry-wide operations.
- Preferred Experience: Two or more years experience supporting Compensation functions.
Job Description Responsibilities:
- Manages certain Physician Compensation functions.
- Reviews change requests to insure they follow proper process and guidelines.
- Ensure requests have proper approvals.
- Work closely with leaders from multiple communities to insure proper compensation calculations.
- Perform many different tasks in a complex compensation system.
- Understand, create, and use complex logic in Excel to support calculations.
- Maintains documentation for procedures.
- Assists in developing new process documentation, user guides, and communications.
- Serve as an expert and resource for Physician Compensation.
- Become an expert in the tools used for Physician Compensation.
- Provide user training on compensation related tasks.
- Assist in trouble shooting when challenges present.
- Maintains certain aspects of compensation data warehouse.
- Compiles data using database queries to conduct analyses.
- Facilitates reporting build and distribution.
- Accesses the HR ERP system to research job, position and co-worker records concerning pay rates earnings and set-ups.
- Answers questions related to physician compensation to support leaders and providers.
- Interprets and understands rules and regulations related to Physician Compensation to ensure compliance and provide guidance.
- Assists in reviewing compensation practices and recommends process improvements.
- Supports audits and works with auditors, both internal and external.
- Maintains high level of engagement to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Maintains comprehensive Excel workbooks to track and manage manual system overrides.
- Performs related duties as required.
