The Senior Product Engineer is responsible for contributing to the product team through product design, testing, data analysis, and project management. This role also supports the manufacturing of the product by representing the design team in initiating and executing design changes. Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly present information are essential. The Senior Product Engineer is expected to develop and maintain skill sets and work practices that align with the organization’s expectations and needs. How You Will Do It: Master theories, concepts, technical principles, and processes related to fluid, thermal, and other mechanical aspects of water-cooled chillers. Take a lead role in the timely completion of programs and regularly report on the status of projects. Demonstrate proficiency in mechanical design and the ability to conceptualize and implement design ideas into the product. Apply mechanical codes such as UL, CE, PED, and ASME. Work closely with the design and manufacturing teams to generate layout concepts and system configurations that balance cost, performance, and reliability. Coordinate and lead execution of test programs to validate the performance and reliability of mechanical systems and components. Analyze, design, modify, and/or troubleshoot mechanical sub-components and sub-systems based on test data. Generate and review technical documentation for use within the product team. Occasionally travel domestically and internationally (less than 10%). What We Look For: BS in Mechanical Engineering or related science. 3-6 years of experience in a related field. Testing and data analysis experience: ability to hypothesize, build test procedures and prototypes, execute tests, analyze critically, make changes based on test results, and implement product development or existing product changes. Candidates with backgrounds in real-world building, fabrication experience, electromechanical systems, communication protocols (such as CANBus, Modbus, and Serial protocols), turbomachinery (especially centrifugal compressors), tribology, magnetic levitation bearing technology, and pressure vessel design will be particularly well-suited for this role.
