Description
As the VP of Operations you will be responsible for:
Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance:
Ensure current manufacturing standards comply with all regulatory requirements. Maintain the highest levels of product quality and safety while optimizing operational efficiency. Continuous Improvement in Manufacturing Standards:
Research and implement new manufacturing techniques to progress toward GMP certification and, subsequently, SQF certification. Inventory Management:
Maintain the master inventory tool, updating inputs daily. Report inventory positions and forecasts weekly in the SLT meeting and ahead of the following week's production schedule. HACCP and Production Standards:
Keep HACCP plans updated to reflect evolving manufacturing needs. Ensure all production runs meet or exceed specification requirements and promptly report deviations. Product Safety and Compliance:
Verify product safety throughout its shelf life and adherence to nutritional panel specifications. Ensure all nutritional panels and labels comply with FDA standards. Research and Development:
Drive R&D initiatives to optimize the finished product by leveraging all available variables. Extend the shelf life of fresh product offerings. Budgeting and Financial Accountability:
Develop and manage the annual operations budget. Ensure fiscal responsibility and accountability for all operational expenses. Cost Optimization:
Evaluate operations to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities. Accounting Processes:
Perform or oversee relevant accounting tasks, including inventory management. Reporting: Deliver weekly and monthly operations reports to the President and management team. Develop annual plans and goals; monitor and report progress through monthly operational updates. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Establish and track weekly KPIs for Operations and Manufacturing, ensuring focus on continuous improvement. Profile
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Food Science, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred . 10-15+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in the food and beverage industry. Proven track record of leading large-scale manufacturing facilities with high production volumes. Experience in developing and managing multi-million-dollar budgets and achieving financial targets. In-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance in food and beverage manufacturing, such as FDA, USDA, and OSHA standards. Hands-on experience with continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen. Successful track record in managing supply chain and logistics operations. Experience with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), SQF (Safe Quality Food), or equivalent certifications. Strong ability to lead cross-functional teams, mentor staff, and foster a collaborative environment. Experience in building high-performing teams and driving accountability.
