Job Description:
Our client is seeking an Estimator, based in Grove City, OH. This individual will be held responsible for all aspects of bidding Heavy-Civil and Marine construction projects and the following duties:
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist with project selection.
• Attend pre-bid walk throughs.
• Prepare accurate and detailed quantity take-offs & estimates.
• Breakdown projects into functional stages.
• Ability to receive and evaluate subcontractor quotes for applicable scopes and alignment with bid documents.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with customer base.
• Work directly with owners, construction managers, architects, engineers and contractors.
• Accurately review project schedules for applicable scopes.
• Review and incorporate historical data from past projects into unit and man-hour figures.
• Prepare bid analysis and review with the estimating group.
• Prepare budget pricing or firm proposals as required for customers.
• Preparation of request for proposal for applicable scopes of work needed including understanding small business goal requirements.
• Provide a financial job cost analysis and project hand-off transition to the project team including risk analysis.
• Resource subcontractors, materials and equipment.
• Provide leadership to others through example and by sharing knowledge and skill.
Requirements
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred or a
combination of experience, technical training and/or education is acceptable.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret specifications and drawings.
• Excellent communication skills and leadership ability.
• High level of attention to detail and cost analysis.
• Ability to accurately read schedules for sequencing and durations of applicable scopes of work.
• Proficiency with computer takeoff & estimating software such as HCSS, Heavy Bid as well as use of the Microsoft Office package.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and keep each on schedule ensuring that all deadlines are met.
• Ability to communicate well with all levels of employees within the company.
• Must be flexible and enjoy working with a diverse group in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player attitude.
