Job Title: Accounting Specialist
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer, dotted line to Director of Finance and Administration
Hours: Monday Friday (40 hours)
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Location: On-Site: 82 Coromar Drive Goleta, CA 93117
Salary Range: $28.00 - $31.25, commensurate with experience

About the Position:
Were looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to be a vital part of our Finance team. In this role, youll manage essential accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit card reconciliation. Your expertise will ensure our financial transactions are accurate and transparent, helping us prepare for our annual audit and maintain our commitment to integrity and accountability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable, ensuring vendors are paid promptly and within terms, auditing and verifying receipts and invoices.
- Manage the DocuSign account, providing technical support to staff as needed.
- Ensure partner agency payments are processed and posted accurately in CERES (Enterprise Resource Planning system) to assist the Partner Service team with account management.
- Assemble and review credit card transaction reports for accuracy.
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts as part of the monthly financial statement process.
- Manage banking deposits efficiently and accurately.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure transaction accuracy and audit readiness.
- Support Director of Finance and Administration in computer and equipment inventory.
- Perform additional related duties to support the Finance team, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Successful Candidates will have:
- Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of accounts payable or related accounting experience, with non-profit experience preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory accounting is a plus.
- Interest in Information Technology (IT) and technology operations.
Essential Skills:
- Proficient in Excel, Outlook, Word, and DocuSign.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a busy environment.

- Strong administrative skills, with the ability to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Additional Requirements:
- This role requires regular access to an upstairs office via stairs, as materials and workspaces are located on the second floor. If you have mobility concerns, please reach out to us.
- Valid CA Drivers License and clear driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
