Quality Engineer

The company we're partnered with is a privately held contract manufacturer of injection-molded medical, aerospace, and industrial parts. They manufacture high-end parts in large or small quantities and have state-of-the-art capabilities.
We are seeking a Quality Engineer who can support the Quality Manager to ensure that the company is compliant with Quality standards. You will play an active role in the new project development process and actively work with other departments to reduce scrap rates, finished goods nonconformances, and customer returns while minimizing the cost of quality.
Preferred Experience -
- High School Diploma or Associate’s degree
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with one to two years related experience and/or training; or a combination of equivalent experience and certification training
- 1 year (minimum) experience working within a certified quality management system (e.g ISO 9001/ 13485/ AS9100)
- 2+ years of proven injection molding experience
- Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with various metrology equipment, including calipers, micrometers, pin gages
- Familiarity with MicroView and CMM a plus
- Customer quality assurance experience a plus
- Previous audit experience a plus
Essential Functions -
- Help maintain Integrated System documents (procedures, work instructions, forms, etc.) to ensure compliance to ISO standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, ISO 14001), group requirements, and customer requirements,
- Assist Quality Manager with maintaining Internal Audit system to ensure compliance with IMS.
- Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) to support new product launches and work with Engineering to develop process documentation like FMEA’s, control plans, operator instructions, etc
- Maintain documentation and write qualification protocols for new tooling and equipment as needed,
- Complete, verify, and approve First Article Inspection packet documentation
- Ensure that production controls are in place to meet customer product quality requirements
- Determine requirements for statistical techniques in production, implement statistical techniques to determine non-conformity risks and impacts, monitor statistical trends, and complete statistical analysis, as required.
- Evaluate and make recommendations on critical supplier selections. As required, perform on-site supplier audits to evaluate supplier capability and capacity to perform current or potential future work,
- Manage nonconforming product system and complete analysis of defects, as requested
- Initiate and drive investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action on process and product quality issues, as required
- Issue and follow up on supplier corrective actions, evaluate responses, and ensure objective evidence substantiates adequate closure
Compensation:
$85,000 per year
