Gathers information, analyzes and interprets data, disseminates information; helps formulate goals, protocols and information gathering methods.Schedule 8 AM-5 PM Responsibilities Position Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Senior Financial Analyst, manage integrations to the UR Student information system (Workday Student) and UR Student system configurations that support the business needs related to accurate and timely processing of assessment and collection of tuition and fees. Actively participate in testing of all new and existing system functionality related to billing and collection of tuition and fees. Work closely with the UR Student Support Team in support of the UR Student information system. Develop and recommend procedures and process improvements to ensure the accuracy and timely completion of integrations for the purpose of charge assessment, scholarships, benefits and discounts. Identify and implement reporting needs to support the business functions of the Bursar's Office. % of Time Specific Responsibilities and Performance Standards: 30% Responsibility: Manage Graduate Tuition Award process in UR Student Responsible for the graduate tuition award process in the student information system (UR Student) via Workday's Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) Microsoft Excel templates. Manage collection of graduate tuition and health award information from Academic Units and departments therein. Review graduate tuition and health award information from departments for completeness and accuracy related to EIB process to load data in UR Student. Coordinate with Student Account Representatives for input of graduate tuition award data into EIB template, where required. Ensure disbursements and adjustments of graduate awards for both changes in student registration and changes in department accounts during each academic period. Performance Standard: Performance is measured on the timely and accurate processing of graduate tuition awards. Ability to work and communicate effectively with University personnel is also expected. 20% Responsibility: Manage all inbound integrations that support charge assessment and scholarships and course fee discounts Manage inbound integrations from auxiliary departments and the Eastman Community Music School for the purpose of assessing charges, disbursing scholarships and discounts in the student information system (UR Student). These include housing, dining, health insurance and other charges, scholarships and discounts as required. Review submitted integrations for completeness and accuracy related to EIB process to load data and process adjustments in UR Student. Ensure timely and accurate processing of integrations. Performance Standard: Performance is measured on the timely and accurate processing of auxiliary and Eastman Community Music School integrations to UR Student. Ability to work and communicate effectively with University personnel is also expected. 20% Responsibility: Manage calculation and assessment of tuition and fees in UR Student Working closely with the Senior Financial Analyst and UR Student Support Team, develop and demonstrate expertise in the calculation of tuition and fees in UR Student. Responsible for maintenance and updates of the lookup table for tuition and fee rates. Working directly with the academic units, update courses with course fees as required. Create, modify, test, and validate charge adjustment schedules as required. Coordinate and manage population of student billing cohorts for each academic period. Create and modify payment, charge, award and waiver items. Test and validate all changes to billing calculations for tuition and fees. Performance Standard: Performance is measured by the ability to demonstrate understanding of tuition and fee calculations including accuracy of tuition and fee assessment. Timely and accurate completion of daily and other routine tasks is required. Ability to work and communicate effectively with University personnel is also expected. 15% Responsibility: Conduct analysis to identify potential charge assessment issues Conduct analysis to identify potential charge assessment issues due to cohort management, records management and integration errors. Working with the Senior Financial Analyst, identify and implement remediation efforts and measures to prevent recurrence, where possible. Create and file brainstorms with Workday intended to improve the student system product functionality. Performance Standard: Performance is measured by the ability to remediate charge assessment issues and to conduct analysis to identify trends and issues to improve student receivables and student satisfaction. Ability to work and communicate effectively with University personnel is also expected. 15% Responsibility: Participate in testing and validation of system releases Participate in testing and validation for any system releases for new functionality and resolution of system issues. This includes but is not limited to, bug fixes, weekly and biannual system releases. Attend daily triage meetings held by UR Student Support team and assist with review and testing of weekly release notes. Assist with remediation of job failure holds as needed. Performance Standard: Performance is measured by the ability to accurately test and validate all updates to system functionality. Ability to work and communicate effectively with University personnel is also expected. A minimum of 3-5 years of accounting or finance experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Higher education experience in Finance, Student Accounts and/or Financial Aid and Workday Financials experience preferred. - The amount of supervision received by the incumbent. (What is the job class code and working title of the supervisor? How, and to what extent is the incumbent's work checked? Note the distinction between initial or special training and ongoing supervision.) The incumbent reports to the Senior Financial Analyst (pay grade 55) and is expected to perform duties with limited supervision. - The analytical skill required. Ability to adapt to an object-oriented information system to create complex calculated fields essential. - Both the level and budget volume (Dollar amount) of financial responsibility/accountability. (What is the extend of the incumbent's responsibility for calculating and verifying figures; gathering data; preparing requisitions or budget documents; monitoring or analyzing expenditures; preparing reports; approving purchases; planning and authorizing department or grant budgets, etc.?) Incumbent does not have direct budgetary responsibilities. - Both the diversity and complexity of the supervision executed.
