What you'll be doing...
The Artificial Intelligence & Data (AI&D) Organization is an exciting center of excellence supporting all of Verizon. Our team is a catalyst to Verizon's future in creating networks that move the world forward through the power of Artificial Intelligence & Data.
You will be a strategic thinker joining a high-profile, high-visibility team that powers data science and strategic thinking for Verizon. You will be part of a team that builds tools, analyses, and insights that informs, quantifies, and enables the visualization of data to drive business decisions for all of Verizon's Networks. With your analytical, big data and AI/ML expertise, you will deliver business value through business intelligence and data science by driving insights to actions. One way you will accomplish this is by developing analytical views of data utilizing various BI and data science such as SQL, Python, Tableau, Looker and other analytical toolsets. You will also connect various databases to stage data. The business insights and recommendations you provide will help to improve Verizon's performance across multiple key business metrics.
Analyzing large-scale and complex datasets (including 3rd party benchmarking data) to identify how network metrics correlate with each other and correlate to customer experience.
Outlining and illustrating simple and effective data stories that are easily interpretable to stakeholders, enabling "insights to action"
Preparing senior-level presentations to clearly articulate results of complex mathematical analysis through strategic storytelling
Engaging directly with data providers to ensure the data is accurately collected, measured and reported.
Performing ad-hoc analysis and developing reproducible analytical approaches to meet business requirements.
Performing exploratory and targeted data analyses using descriptive statistics and other statistical methods.
Performing geospatial analyses and creating geospatial visualizations to respond to business requests.
Presenting results and recommendations to senior management and business users.
Strategizing, coordinating, detailing, and enabling resource planning and scope definition on multiple projects with evolving timelines in various stages of completion along with other team members and project managers.
Collaborating across multiple teams including data engineering and Machine Learning engineering
Detailing and demonstrating solutions by developing frameworks, production documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, and models.

You have strong analytical skills and are eager to work in a collaborative environment with global teams to drive ML applications in business problems, develop end-to-end analytical solutions, and communicate insights and findings to leadership. You work independently and are always willing to learn new technologies. You thrive in a dynamic environment and are able to interact with various partners and cross-functional teams to implement data science-driven business solutions.
You'll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience in applying statistical ideas and methods to data sets to answer business problems.
Experience with programming in Python, R, SQL or a similar language
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Masters of Science in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Basic knowledge of wireless network and performance KPIs.
Strong understanding of data science methods and concepts
Experience with developing insights, presenting, and influencing strategic decisions using data.
Experience in technical consulting in a data-related capacity (data engineering, data science, analytics, etc)
Strong ability to articulate differences and benefits of statistical and data science concepts (hypothesis testing, sampling methods, linear regression, logistic regression, time series analysis, NLP, survival analysis, clustering etc) and apply them appropriately
Ability to build, train, evaluate, and deploy machine learning models to address specific business problems.
Experience with geospatial analytics
Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Plotly
Experience with Python, Spark, and SQL to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Familiarity with data engineering and data management tools and processes
Strong understanding of data ethics and privacy regulations

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
