Senior Software Engineer- Windows 365 Link Operating System team

Microsoft Corporation, Redmond, Washington, United States, 98052

Microsoft just announced the brand-new Windows 365 Link as the simplest and most secure way for a business to utilize Windows in the Cloud. Come join us, the team that builds the operating system!

Senior Software Engineer

– Windows 365 Link Operating System team

We are a small, distributed, and growing team within the Windows Cloud Experiences organization primarily based out of Redmond, WA. As a

Senior Software Engineer

on the team, you will build with the latest advances in the Windows platform, cloud/client computing, and Web UI development. You will partner with Product Management and Design to develop ideas to solve customer problems, and prototypes to learn from.

You are open and adaptable, ready to dive into and contribute to diverse codebases and technologies. You will contribute to engineering systems, testing, and tools to improve the team's efficiency. You will use telemetry and data to learn from the customer experience and adapt the product accordingly.

Our product is still under development and we’re looking for people that will be just as passionate about shaping its future as we are.

The Windows 365 Link is a new device running a minimalist version of Windows

designed to

get users to their Cloud PC in seconds. Our goal was to create a product that is as easy and cheap as possible for an IT admin to manage by doing away with all the complexity involved with managing a typical physical device or a custom virtual desktop configuration. The new operating system is

adminless

,

passwordless

, and

can’t

run any local applications. Setup takes only a couple of minutes. With Windows 365, a business can scale the

compute

power of a Cloud PC up or down to support any workload.

Finally

, we have support for Teams and multimedia optimizations to make the day-to-day experience of using a Cloud PC feel like a local OS.

If you thrive on solving problems by building, learning and iterating in a collaborative environment, this is the role for you! We offer in-office, remote and partial remote work arrangements to support your preferred work style.

By applying to this U.S. based position, while remote work is possible, relocation does not apply/is not provided for the role.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
