Description
The
Senior Systems Administrator
is responsible for
the overall operation and maintenance of the organization's computer systems and networks. The Senior Systems Administrator will work closely with the organization's IT and management teams to ensure the smooth operation of the organization's computer systems, resolve technical issues, and implement
new technologies
as needed.
Key Responsibilities
: Lead the operations and maintenance of computer systems and networks: Lead the operations and maintenance of the organization's computer systems and networks, including servers, workstations, and mobile devices. Monitor the organization's computer systems and networks for technical issues and resolve these issues in
a timely
and effective manner. Implement and
maintain
security measures, such as firewalls, antivirus software, and encryption, to protect the organization's computer systems and networks. Manage user accounts, including creating new accounts, resetting passwords, and revoking access as needed. Perform software and hardware upgrades, as needed, to ensure that the organization's computer systems and networks
remain
up-to-date and secure. Develop and
maintain
documentation for the organization's computer systems and networks, including network diagrams, user manuals, and technical specifications. Work closely with the organization's IT team to ensure that the organization's computer systems and networks are aligned with the organization's technology needs and are effective in supporting the organization's operations. Stay current with
emerging
technologies, including new operating systems, hardware, and software, and make recommendations for adopting
new technologies
as needed. Mentor and train junior team members, including System Administrators and Help Desk Support Specialists, to ensure their professional development and effectiveness in supporting the organization's computer systems and networks.
Basic Qualifications
: A
bachelor's degree in Computer Science
, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred and 5+ years IT experience, or an
Associates
degree and 10+
years experience
. 5+ years of experience in computer systems administration, with at least 2 years of experience in a senior role. Experience with designing,
deploying
and
maintaining
VMware Datacenter, Horizon
View
and network storage. Expert level experience in designing,
deploying
and
maintaining
Microsoft Active Directory and infrastructure systems including Exchange, File Servers, MDM management,
SharePoint
and PKI Strong technical background, with a good understanding of computer systems, networks, and security technologies. Detailed knowledge of Linux and Cisco equipment Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to
identify
and resolve complex technical issues. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to accurately perform routine tasks and
maintain
documentation. Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco, VMWare, and Microsoft certifications are highly desirable. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and train junior team members. Original Posting Date:

Pay Range:
Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
