Description

Summary:

Northstar Behavioral Health Network is a team of professionals that specialize in serving those battling substance use disorders, specifically Opioid Use Disorder and Stimulant Use Disorder. Also specializing in those needing Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS).

Licensed Practical Nurse Essential duties and responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Utilize nursing knowledge and skills in the safe implementation of basic preventive therapeutic and rehabilitative nursing care of assigned patients as evidenced by documentation and observation of positive patient care outcomes.
  • Perform delegated independent nursing functions using established procedures, policies, guidelines and standards as observed by the Nurse Manager and Director of Nursing.
  • Administer medication accurately, observing client response, as evidenced by documentation in the medical record and lack of negative outcomes.
  • Maintain and coordinate communication among client, staff and physician as evidenced within medical record, client and health care team feedback.
  • Client Admissions
  • Narcotics Count
  • Completing Prior Authorizations
  • MAR audits and compliance
  • Assist in assuring that effective communication exists with patients as reflected in the plan of care. Give punctual change of shift report consisting of pertinent and relevant information for assigned patients.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the health care team in coordination of the patient's care as evidenced by other department feedback.
  • Answer and refer telephone calls or other inquiries to ensure accurate and timely communications are facilitated.
Requirements

Licensed Practical Nurse Job Requirements
  • Valid LPN licensure in the state of MN
  • Comprehensive understanding of all MN Statutes related to providing services for the population NBHN serves
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or attain within 30 days of employment
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge in MS Office, and Google Suite programs
  • Familiar with Procentive, Electronic Health Record System (preferred)
