About The Role
We seek a dynamic and experienced Staff Software Engineer to lead our Outbound Engineering team, driving the design, development, and implementation of software solutions for complex integrations with robotics and machinery. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a hands-on, collaborative environment and is passionate about creating scalable, high-performance systems that bridge the gap between software and hardware.
As a critical contributor, you will shape the future of our fulfillment technology stack, mentor engineers, and ensure the delivery of innovative, reliable solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align technology development with strategic business goals, directly impacting operational efficiency and company growth.
This role reports to the Engineering Manager and will be fully remote. *States Not Eligible: AK, AR, DE, KS, MS, ND, SD, WY

Stay Ahead of the Curve:
Research emerging technologies and trends in software engineering, identifying opportunities to enhance our projects and processes.
Problem-Solving:
Address complex technical challenges with innovative solutions, anticipating potential issues to ensure smooth project execution.
What You Bring To The Role
Minimum Requirements:
At least 7 years of software development experience
2+ years acting as a technical leader
Proven experience with the development, scaling, and maintenance of distributed systems
Proven experience with warehouse automation or fulfillment operations machinery integration
Solid understanding of software engineering principles, architectural design, and agile development methodologies
Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to work independently on complex issues
Practical communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly and concisely
Preferred Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Experience leading projects and mentoring junior engineers.
Familiarity with AWS
Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub portfolio.

The expected salary range for this role is $172,460.00-$215,575.00. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate's skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additionally, salary is just one component of TRR's total rewards package. Depending on role, employees may also be eligible for a bonus program, incentive pay and benefits.
