Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Student Services, the school nurse will provide comprehensive health services to students within the Azusa Unified School District. This role ensures the health and wellness of students by promoting positive health practices, managing medical care, and supporting students' ability to learn. The School Nurse will assess and treat students, develop health care plans, provide health education, collaborate with school staff, and comply with district, state, and federal health regulations. This position is included in the certificated bargaining unit and is subject to the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements / Qualifications

Applicants must possess or qualify for: •Registered Nurse (RN) license •Possession of a School Nurse Credential •OR the ability to meet the criteria to apply for the Preliminary School Nurse Services Credential (BA Degree, RN License, and willingness to enroll and complete a School Nurse Credential program within 5 years) •Valid Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR Certificate •Valid Basic First Aid Certificate •Valid California Driver's License •Pediatric Nursing experience (preferred) •Training and/or experience working in an educational setting (preferred)

Medical insurance plans are available on the Azusa Unified School District website in the staff section. Employees working a 90+% assignment are required to take at least single coverage health insurance with the Azusa Unified School District or provide proof of coverage through another group plan.
