Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse - Acute Care

Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a key member of an interdisciplinary team of caregivers ensuring that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, high-quality, and safe patient care. Nurses practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and supported by shared governance models. Nursing competencies are supported by professional and ethical standards.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

- Exemplary Practice and Outcomes: - Utilize the Nursing Process, providing evidence-based and individualized care. - Deliver relationship-based patient-centered care, considering population-specific characteristics. - Engage patients and significant others through appropriate communication methods. - Practice using current clinical standards.

- Teamwork and Collaboration: - Coordinate safe, quality patient care and complete timely documentation. - Demonstrate teamwork and promote recruitment and retention of healthcare members. - Participate in performance improvement initiatives and support shared governance.

- Professional Development and Initiative: - Complete professional competency assessments and mandatory education. - Serve as a preceptor or mentor to ensure a qualified nursing workforce.

- Evidence-Based Practice and Research: - Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement. - Uphold health system policies and accreditation requirements. - Participate in data collection and consult experts for evidence-based questions.

- Resources and Support: - Plan for patient care across the care continuum. - Collaborate to develop protocols and procedures for best practice outcomes. - Support efficient use of resources.

This position involves performing other duties as assigned and requires adherence to health system policies, standards of work, and a code of conduct.
