Job Summary:

Installs, maintains, and plans local-area networks (LAN), regional wide-area networks (WAN) links and related peripherals, and connection to the enterprise's multiple other WAN/LAN networks. Provides advanced-level diagnosis and repair of LANs, WANs, software and related peripherals, and network administration. Supports identity infrastructure and associated services and infrastructure security.

Job Requirements:

Installs, supports, and maintains local area network (LAN), including file servers, gateways and associated operating systems, network management software, Novell application software, print serving, infrastructure, remote access, and related equipment. Maintains integrity of the LAN-processing environment and ensure continuity with the current processing applications. Provides LAN administration. Coordinates with outside vendors regarding proper design, monitoring, maintenance and configuration of WANs/LANs. Researches equipment/software for suitability to task and availability for identified needs. Makes recommendations. Assists with the ordering process. Installs equipment and/or software. Provides purchasing support for PCs and network equipment as requested. Assists hospital department leadership in determining computer needs and how to best meet those needs. Assists hospital department leadership in establishing hardware/software standards and future growth planning. Maintains current hardware/software audits to ensure the enterprise is in compliance with all licensing agreements. Maintains license agreements in a locked cabinet. Maintains and supports identity infrastructure and infrastructure security based on policy. Develops and maintains service level agreements with various end-user departments and enterprise business units. Identifies and initiates resolutions to client problems. Performs advanced-level hardware/software troubleshooting and repairs regarding WAN/LAN-related problems in multiple configurations and applications. Analyzes existing methods and develops alternatives to increase operations and production efficiency. Recommends policies and procedures for efficient, secure, LAN/WAN management and use. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
