SUMMARY: Will manage and lead the plant industrial maintenance team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the plant’s manufacturing equipment, facilities and building services and utilities. This role is hands-on and will require this key member of the leadership team to execute maintenance activities with the team ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent may be required to perform all, or a combination of the following: Ensures plant facilities and equipment meet regulatory compliance, good manufacturing standards, and safety standards. Ensures adequate processes and systems are in place to measure, track and drive continuous improvement of plant production equipment including installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of industrial and manufacturing equipment including mechanical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic control systems, PLC controlled production equipment. Examines, locates, and diagnoses equipment failure and repairs equipment working from maintenance schedules, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, verbal and/or written instruction and ensures timely corrective action. Leads the installation of changes, modifications, upgrades into new or existing manufacturing and facility equipment and lines. Ensures expedient response to calls and written work orders by Operations team. Leads the performance of effective, planned and ad hoc preventive maintenance activities on equipment and in facility with a variety of hand, power, test tools, or other equipment. Responsible for all plant utilities performance and preventive maintenance system. Manages the Maintenance annual budget and inventory of parts and supplies. Prepares requisitions as required and maintains appropriate maintenance, inventory, and repair logs. Completes work order requisitions and other administrative duties as assigned. Establishes a solid maintenance team structure. Recruits, develops and trains Maintenance and operations team members. Sources technical expert vendors to assist with equipment or facility failures when appropriate. Other duties and projects as assigned. High sense of urgency Resilience to work well in a fast- paced environment with competing priorities at times Sound judgement EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Certification from Technical training program that includes industrial equipment maintenance preferred Aptitude toward strong Mechanical troubleshooting skills. Some Familiarity with the following: conveying systems, inkjet printers, vacuum parking equipment, label applicators, relays, 3 phase motors, drives, sensor pumps, and PLC controlled production equipment. Ability to evaluate and make recommendations to diagnose equipment failures related to hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical equipment and PLC’s Some electro-mechanical and industrial facility maintenance skills Ability to work well with mathematical concepts Must be able to learn and use Maintenance Connection CMMS (Computerized maintenance management) system Candidate must have ability to supply their own tools; specialty tools are available onsite for use Computer/HMI (Human-machine interface) and PLC (Programmable logic controllers) skills preferred, training available Proficiency with reading, writing, and speaking English; Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Knowledge of food manufacturing industry and maintenance a plus.
