Northmarq is seeking a
Public Relations Manager
to manage Northmarq's public relations and media relations campaigns to generate positive awareness of Northmarq, support company, and business line initiatives, and support corporate spokespeople as thought leaders within the commercial real estate industry. Working collaboratively, this individual will create and distribute news and information that helps drive corporate priorities, affect culture, elevate positive brand awareness, and share Northmarq's story.
This individual serves as a direct contact for national, local, and trade media. The Public Relations Manager will work directly with business partners and Marketing & Communications team members to ensure Northmarq's positioning is incorporated into media messaging and PR campaigns. This individual also understands the internal and external business sensitivities that impact communication direction. The role stays abreast of communication, public relations, and social media best practices and drives continuous improvement within the function. This individual also works closely with the Marketing & Communications leadership team and colleagues to ensure an integrated approach to sharing news and information with external audiences.
On occasion, this individual will also provide internal communications support and guidance to leaders, employees, and others across the organization to ensure the delivery of relevant, timely messages to target audiences.
*This position is an in-office position, with an immediate start date.
Position Responsibilities:
Contribute to a growing, high-performing team while promoting a culture of shared accountability, operational excellence, and collaboration across the organization. Take a leadership role in developing and executing Northmarq's public relations strategy. Deploy news content via internal and external channels, including press releases, corporate websites, internal communications, and social media platforms. Manage the Northmarq.com news page. Work directly with contracted resources, as needed, such as public relations agencies and/or freelancers. Provide media coaching and interview support to company spokespeople, as needed. Ensure thought leadership content is maximized and leveraged appropriately to drive stakeholder awareness and increase Northmarq's visibility as a commercial real estate industry leader. Contribute to crisis planning and reputation management initiatives. Monitor and report on earned media placements, metrics, and business outcomes. Serve as a change agent, championing innovative approaches to enable teams and individuals to succeed. Build relationships with business partners and media contacts. Translate complex concepts into understandable ideas and language based on target audiences. Help identify opportunities to streamline current PR processes and implement new ideas and best practices to help improve efficiency and reach target goals. What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's Degree in public relations, journalism, communications, English, or related field. 8+ years of previous public relations/media relations experience. Demonstrate previous experience working effectively and collaboratively with executive leaders and corporate business partners. Proficiency in MS Office products including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Proficiency in AP Style. High level of interpersonal skills, including professional written and verbal communication. Ability to support organizational strategies and contribute to the Marketing & Communication team's ability to achieve strategic goals and outcomes. Demonstrated knowledge of a broad range of media and communication channels, including traditional print, broadcast, digital, and social, and emerging trends in each. A keen sense of what makes a compelling news story, with a demonstrated ability to identify and generate positive news and mitigate negative coverage. Demonstrated ability to design, execute, and measure external communications (earned media) results. Works with a high level of business acumen and good judgment. Successful history of working effectively in a complex, matrixed, and collaborative environment that expects and promotes teamwork. Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information. Organization and prioritization skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and deadlines without compromising quality. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to demonstrate professional poise, tact, and diplomacy at all times with internal and external stakeholders and/or collaborators.
