Lead .Net Developer

Location: Springfield, IL – Remote

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Developer with extensive experience in SQL, VB6, VB.NET, C#, and web application development to join our team. This role focuses on enhancing and modernizing existing applications, designing and building new solutions, and ensuring optimal performance and scalability. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, leadership, and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain applications using VB6, VB.NET, C#, and SQL.

Develop and implement web applications, ensuring performance, scalability, and a user-friendly experience.

Modernize legacy systems to align with current technologies and platforms.

Lead application projects and provide technical direction and mentorship to junior developers.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliver effective solutions.

Integrate applications with external systems through APIs and custom solutions.

Customize existing applications to address evolving business needs.

Optimize application performance using efficient coding practices and troubleshooting techniques.

Conduct regular code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and maintain high code quality.

Develop test plans and scripts to validate functionality and performance.

Implement CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment processes.

Create and maintain technical documentation for all development efforts.

Ensure clear documentation for knowledge transfer and ongoing maintenance.

Required Skills & Experience:

7+ years of experience in software development with a focus on application projects.

Proficiency in SQL, VB6, VB.NET, and C#.

Experience in web application development and modern web technologies.

Strong understanding of application lifecycle management, from design to deployment.

Expertise in debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, using tools like Azure DevOps or JIRA.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in modernizing legacy applications and migrating to newer platforms.

Knowledge of cloud technologies and services (e.g., Microsoft Azure).

Familiarity with database optimization and ETL processes.

Relevant certifications in software development or specific technologies (e.g., Microsoft certifications).
