Learn more about VMD culture here: VMD Culture About the Mission You Will Join: VMD is rapidly growing IT services company focused on tackling some of the big challenges in Immigration, Travel, and Critical Infrastructure Protection. We are looking for dynamic individuals to act as "Game Changers" in driving operational efficiency to our customers. In this role, you will be supporting the Department of Homeland Security mission, specifically working to enhance the immigration experience through IT modernization and innovative digital strategies. Your Impact to the Mission: As the Cloud Architect for the program you will be responsible for overseeing all engineering to include DevSecOps pipeline development, performance monitoring / configuration, cloud usage, and migration activities. Experience Needed to Be Successful: Technical proficiency designing and implementing Cloud-based AWS solutions. Plus to have multi-cloud experience. Experience implementing Event-Driven Architecture Design. Experience with Message Services, such as development of Apache ActiveMQ services, MuleSoft and/or Apache Camel. Experience applying The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) in Agile solution designs to minimize technical debt and improve overall velocity. Deep knowledge in building and improving DevSecOps pipelines to include configuration management, automated testing, performance monitoring, and deployments. Experience leading and coordinating tasks across multiple teams and workstreams. Desired qualifications and Experience: 10 years leading dynamic, agile software programs. Experience delivering mission critical systems in the immigration and travel domains. Experience with Kubernetes Any background in Data Engineering and/or implementation of Artificial Intelligence enabled services Any knowledge of fraud detection and prevention techniques Knowledge in developing interfaces in accordance with National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) Basic Qualifiers: Education Requirement : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent Can Additional Years of Experience Substitute for Degree? Yes Required Certification(s): AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS DevOps Engineer Professional or equivalent Desired Certification(s): A WS, Azure, or GCP Certifications, Agile Certifications i.e SAFe DevOps Practitioner, or SAFe Architect, SAFe Agilist, SAFe Practice Consultant, SAFe Practitioner Minimum Years of Overall Experience: 8 Minimum Years of Specific Experience in Field: 8 Minimum Clearance to Start: Public Trust Work Status Allowable: US Citizen The Type of Person That Will Excel: Strong verbal and written communicator, able to navigate a highly complex environment with multiple product owners. Understanding of and willingness to participate in corporate growth initiatives. Travel and Telecommuting: Travel: Little (less than 10%) Telecommute Options: Hybrid. Occasional trips to client site for meetings. Candidate needs to be located in the DC metro area.
