Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturers specifications, any mechanical & electrical equipment, such as the EVG & Newcor welders, all other production equipment, welding machines, cranes, presses, forklifts, conveyors, compressors, etc.

Required Knowledge/Education

1. High school education. 2-year associate degree program at community or technical college desired.

2. Vocational school courses in mathematics and geometry, blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, metalworking, drafting and quality and safety practices are highly recommended.

3. 5 7 years related industrial experience.

Skills needed:

1. Thorough knowledge of hydraulic and fluid systems, advanced electrical circuitry, and competent knowledge of PLC control systems.

2. Thorough knowledge of blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.

3. Use of common hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches, and hammers, as well as specialized and precision measuring equipment and electronic testing devices.

Typical duties include:

1. Primary responsibilities of Maintenance Multicraft Electrical Technician include repair, preventive maintenance, and installation of new machinery.

2. Repair and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, computer-controlled systems, and production machines and equipment.

3. Adjust and calibrate automated manufacturing equipment.

4. Following a checklist, they may inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions. Maintenance and repair workers keep records of their work.

5. Troubleshooting/diagnosing problems and determining the best way to correct them.

6. May set up and/or operate plant production type of equipment at any time for the amount of time required to perform work of non-production nature necessary to the performance of maintenance duties such as saws, lift trucks, etc.

7. Perform routine preventive maintenance and ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, operate efficiently, and the physical condition does not deteriorate.

8. Cleaning and lubricating machinery, performing basic diagnostic tests, checking performance, and testing damaged machine parts to determine whether major repairs are necessary.

9. Performs job functions using safe work practices; required to adhere to all safety rules and regulations as well as participate in the overall safety effort.

10. Obtain supplies and repair parts from distributors or storerooms.

11. Designs and or creates circuit diagrams and or specifications & instructions for users.

12. Analyzes jobs and/or diagrams to locate or install circuits and equipment, to determine material or replacement needs, and to select a logical approach to troubleshooting.

13. Plans and performs work requiring a thorough working knowledge of electronic and electrical principles.

14. Traces and tests circuits and equipment for faulty operation.

15. Plans and performs work requiring a working knowledge of electrical principals, principals of operation and application of equipment.

16. Dismantles, inspects, repairs, adjusts and/or replaces faulty parts or wiring as required. Reassembles, tests and adjusts equipment for safe and proper operation.

17. Installation of conduit, fittings, switches, controls and fixtures

18. Performs work to conform to existing codes where required, as instructed.

19. Performs other miscellaneous related duties as assigned by supervisor.
