Job Overview:

The Interconnection Engineer will be responsible for managing the interconnection process for our solar and Battery Energy Storage projects, ensuring compliance with ISO (Independent System Operators) , TSP (Transmission Service Providers) and TO (Transmission Owners) regulations and facilitating the seamless integration of Solar and Battery energy systems into the grid. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering or related fields, as well as experience working with ISO, TSP, TO and utilities. Help develop schedule, design requirements, and contract review for Pro-Construction team as well as detailed support to Project Construction team during commissioning.

The location preference for this position is the Denver, CO area. We are open to remote work for this position if the candidate meets all qualifications.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Review client provided Interconnection studies (Feasibility, Facilities and Impact); Review SGIA and LGIA; Provide technical guidance on interconnection requirements, standards, and regulations; and review project designs and specifications to ensure compliance with interconnection guidelines. Develop the project specific Interconnection activity, deliverables and support milestone schedule development that complies with ISO, TSP and TO rules, utility tariffs, and relevant regulatory standards. Serve as the primary point of contact for all interconnection-related matters with external consultants, client Interconnection engineering team, ISOs, utilities, clients, and internal stakeholders. Develop process, deliverables and milestone schedule template for each ISO separately. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure alignment on interconnection goals and requirements. Communicate project status, risks, and mitigation strategies to internal teams and clients. Develop and implement best practices, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Continuously evaluate and optimize interconnection strategies to minimize costs and maximize project success. Review and provide comments on proposal level project schedules and contract exhibits to ensure compliance with interconnection design, procurement, plant and SCADA testing and commissioning requirements. Be part of team for regular communication with Substation EPC for Interconnection related issue Support Project Design Lead and Project Controls Lead during detailed design & engineering phase for any engineering related activities, document submission, procurement, testing and commissioning and utility energization, synchronization, curtailment and commercial operation coordination Provide support for all NERC compliance requirements for all projects by developing the list of detailed RFIs, request information to internal and external stake holders, coordinate with client NERC coordinator and setup and conduct meetings as required EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering /Power 2+ years of experience Solar, Battery Energy Storage, High Voltage, or Interconnection Interconnection experience strongly preferred Professional Engineer license preferred Company Overview:
