We are seeking a talented Network Observation and Automation Engineer to join our team and bring our network monitoring and configuration management to the next level. You will play a critical role in building and maintaining advanced monitoring systems to detect infrastructure and application events, ensuring prompt remediation and minimal downtime. You will also help bring us enhance our fleet management tools for our large footprint of network devices and appliances.
This position is located in Washington, DC or Richmond, VA and offers a schedule of 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.
**Responsibilities**
+ Build and maintain monitoring systems that facilitate network infrastructure availability, performance monitoring and alerting
+ Utilize various monitoring platforms (ex: Solarwinds, PRTG, Nagios, Cisco ThousandEyes, etc) to ensure comprehensive network observability. Create dashboards utilized by the Ops teams
+ Develop scripts utilizing Python or PowerShell to tackle bespoke monitoring tasks and integrate into our monitoring platforms
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate monitoring solutions into existing infrastructure and applications
+ Utilize configuration management and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to automate deployment and configuration tasks
+ Conduct fault analysis to identify root causes of network and application issues and implement fleet-wide corrective measures
+ Manage log aggregation systems, create queries & tools that make it easier for our engineers to troubleshoot issues across the enterprise
**Basic Qualifications**
+ Bachelors Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or college
+ A track record of commitment to prior employers
+ 3+ years proven experience deploying and enhancing enterprise monitoring tools
+ 5+ years scripting with Python or PowerShell
+ 3+ years configuration management supporting a large fleet of network devices & appliances
+ Familiar with log query languages such as KQL
**Preferred Qualifications and Skills**
+ You are writing your own Python or PowerShell scripts, building modules used in business processes and by other team members
+ Familiar with SEIM and Log Analytics tools such as Azure Log Analytics, Sentinel, LM Logs
+ Experience with any of Solarwinds, OpManager, Zabbix, Nagios or PRTG
+ Experience managing LogicMonitor and LM Logs
+ Experience Managing Cisco ThousandEyes
+ Experience with one of Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef

This position offers a base salary range of $117,800- $181,200 based on relevant skills and experience and includes a generous benefits plan.
