The Opportunity The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for full-time, 9-month faculty positions at the rank of assistant professor (tenure-earning) or associate professor (tenured). Candidates across all areas of electrical and computer engineering will be considered with a particular emphasis on the following strategic fields: 1) Quantum Computing We seek candidates whose research focuses on the design, modeling, and experimental implementation of quantum circuits and superconducting devices. Ideal applicants will drive innovation in areas such as quantum algorithms, qubit coherence, error correction, and scalable architectures for quantum processors. Expertise in superconducting digital electronics, cryogenic systems, and applications of superconductive logic to novel computing paradigms is especially valued. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team dedicated to advancing computing technology and fostering interdisciplinary collaborations that will shape the future of computing. 2) Circuits and Systems We are seeking candidates with expertise across various areas of circuit design to enhance our existing strengths and foster collaboration with interdisciplinary teams at UCF. Priority areas include radiation-hardened integrated circuits (ICs), RF/microwave/Terahertz circuits and systems, and power electronics. This position offers a unique opportunity to drive advancements in IC technologies and to develop innovative circuits and systems that support critical missions and emerging applications. 3) Robotics and Autonomous Systems We are looking for candidates whose research addresses key challenges in robotic perception, control, human-robot interaction, autonomous navigation, and machine learning for robotics. Applicants with expertise in developing robotic solutions for complex environments-such as healthcare, aerospace, and industrial automation-are particularly encouraged to apply. This position offers a unique opportunity to join our innovative robotics program, contribute to the growth of a new master's degree in robotics and autonomous systems, and collaborate with faculty across disciplines to drive impactful research and educational advancements in robotics. Successful candidates will demonstrate research excellence through high-quality publications and a commitment to establishing a well-funded, sustainable research program. We are seeking collaborative team players who can further enhance our strong campus-wide research initiatives. Appointment rank will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and academic record. Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or other closely related disciplines at the time of appointment. Applicants must have a strong research track record supported by quality publications. To be eligible for appointment as a tenured associate professor upon hire, the selected candidate must have a demonstrated record of teaching, research, and service commensurate with a tenured faculty appointment at the rank of associate professor. Preferred Qualifications: Past work experience in a national lab and/or industry are desired. Demonstrated record of teaching/training experience is of interest. Additional Application Materials Required: UCF requires all applications and supporting documents be submitted electronically through the Human Resources employment opportunities website, https://www.ucf.edu/jobs/. In addition to the online application, candidates should upload a cover letter, a current curriculum vitae, and a list with contact information for three (3) professional references.
