Position Information Position Title Assistant / Associate Professor Job Summary Department: Small Animal Clinical Sciences College of Veterinary Medicine Essential Job Duties Required to participate in the tripartite mission of teaching, research and service; and participation on College and University committees is expected Participate in effective classroom, clinical and laboratory instruction and supervision for veterinary students, graduate students, and interns Develop innovative teaching and service programs to enhance the Department and the College Advise students, interns, and graduate students Participate in providing client services to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH), with emphasis on, but not limited to Small Animal Internal Medicine. Limited participation in emergency/after-hour interns and expected to support Community Practice Section Participate in community outreach service activities Demonstrate creative scholarship Engage in collaborative research activities in the College, the University and/or with collaborating colleges and universities Serve on College and University committees Expected to attend Department, College, and University meetings. Pursue professional activities, CE and expertise as well as providing continued support to the College of Veterinary Medicine Perform other duties as assigned Preferred Qualifications DVM, or equivalent degree and ACVIM or ECVIM (SAIM) board certification, however, candidates with significant practice experience will be considered Clinical experience and documented competency in small animal medicine required Physical Demands The conditions here in are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
