Hadoop Application Developer - Permanent Position

Our client is a leading manufacturer and supplier of metal components for the automotive industry, recently ranked 13th of the 150 Top North American Suppliers in “Automotive News.” A growing and vital company, client provides a great opportunity for hard-working and skilled individuals.

Title: Hadoop Application Developer

Type: Permanent

Responsibilities:

1. Design, implement and deploy custom applications on Hadoop.
2. Troubleshoot production issues with Hadoop/NoSQL.
3. Performance tuning of a Hadoop/NoSQL environment.
4. Design, implement and deploy ETL to load data into Hadoop/NoSQL.

Note: This position requires 100% travel and reports to the Operations Lead.

Desired Skills:

1. 1 - 4 years of experience building Java applications.
2. 1 - 4 years of experience building and coding applications using Hadoop components - HDFS, HBase, Hive, Sqoop, Flume, etc.
3. 1 - 4 years of experience coding Java MapReduce, Python, Pig programming, Hadoop Streaming, HiveQL.
4. 1 - 4 years of experience implementing relational data models.
5. Minimum 1 year understanding of traditional ETL tools & RDBMS.
6. Minimum 1 year of experience developing REST web services.
7. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree required.
8. Industry experience in financial services, resources, healthcare, government, products, communications, or high tech.
9. Experience leading teams.
