The Intuit FLP (Finance, Legal and Privacy Tech) team is responsible for building Intuit’s core capabilities surrounding enterprise finance, legal and privacy applications. Our team owns a series of capabilities that includes core finance systems that supports record to report, source to pay, order to cash, planning and forecasting, data subject rights for our consumers and employees. Our broader set of stakeholders include Intuit’s finance team, legal compliance and policy team, segment business unit leaders and all of Intuit employees. The FLP tech team works closely with all the above stakeholders to ensure we are delivering the enterprise capabilities needed to support Intuit’s scale, growth and provide best in class employee experience.
This distinguished role will report to the VP, Finance and Compliance Tech and is responsible for driving tech strategy for these enterprise capabilities. The role will partner closely with leaders from FLP Product Management, FLP Engineering, Segment Business Units and from accelerating functions (finance, legal, compliance and policy org) to understand the business needs and put together a strategy, roadmap and establish a durable pattern to support Intuit’s growth and scale through technology and automation.
Responsibilities
- Influences and acts as an expert technologist capable of evaluating technology partners and their applicability to solve our needs in enterprise finance, legal and privacy systems.
- Governs the enterprise finance, legal and privacy systems technology standards for the company to ensure consistent and compliant application.
- Lead technical solution architecture for big impact, cross-Intuit initiatives, mainly focused on enterprise finance and legal technologies.
- As a Chief Architect for Enterprise Finance, legal and privacy systems, partner with architects community at Intuit to co-drive architectural imperatives and adopt engineering best practices within Enterprise systems.
- Collaborate with engineering and product management leaders within FLP Tech and beyond to deliver outcomes representing Enterprise Finance, Legal and Privacy systems.
- Build the Intuit technology brand, attract top talent and represent Intuit at external events that accelerate Intuit platform journey.
- Develop, inspire and hold accountable senior technologists across Intuit but with specific focus on the areas of accountability.
Qualifications
- Deep understanding of business processes and technology landscape in above capabilities, specifically in Enterprise finance and privacy space.
- Provide thought leadership across a number of interdependent engineering teams, architects, systems and business leaders.
- Boundaryless leadership experience: Applying the nuances of influencing based on the situation, knowing when to push and when to ease, driving through designs, ideas, and roadmaps.
- Excellent communication skills: Demonstrated ability to present to all levels of leadership, including executives.
- Masterful technical documentation and presentation skills to communicate architectural and design options, educating development teams and business users.
- Expertise with modern technology stacks, API strategies, microservices, public cloud and programming languages.
- Formulate and drive best practices around systems integration, build vs. buy, consolidation vs. best in breed and patterns.
- Build prototypes to rapidly iterate on the problem and zero in on the optimal customer experience.
- Participate in cross-company technology initiatives.
Additional Qualifications
- Minimum BS degree in Computer Science or closely related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 15+ years of software product development experience with 5+ working as an enterprise or solutions architect.
- Demonstrated ability to research & learn new technologies and business processes independently and apply them as needed.
- Passion for facilitative leadership, collaboration and lead teams across boundaries.
- Proven capability to communicate and collaborate at all levels - from front line engineers to senior leaders.
- Have a firm understanding of systems engineering and high-availability design.
- Understand the benefits and trade-offs between asynchronous and synchronous processing.
- Iterative software development fundamentals are under your belt, including possibly experience with SCRUM, Agile or other iterative approaches.
- Have strong business acumen to be able to bridge technical and business priorities.
- Track record of collaboration and influence – recognized as a great partner for the business and technology teams.
