Summary
The Department of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking exceptional candidates for a full-time faculty position as a Palliative Medicine Provider in the section of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at an academic rank (Assistant or Associate Professor) commensurate with experience. As a Palliative Care Provider, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive palliative care to people with serious illness, focusing on symptom management, communication, and support for patients and their families. As a member of the Baylor COM academic community, you are expected to role-model and teach exceptional evidence-based care. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in clinical care and at least one additional area of focus- research, quality improvement, social justice, ethics, education or other. Responsibilities Provide expert clinical care to inpatients with serious illness, including pain and symptoms management, emotional support, and communication of treatment goals and options. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare providers, to develop and implement patient-centered care plans that align with patients' goals and preferences. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to facilitate shared decision-making and ensure that patients' values and preferences are respected. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including performance improvement projects and palliative care program development. Qualifications: Minimum Education: M.D. or equivalent Minimum Certification/Licensure: Licensed by the Texas Medical Board.
