Stony Brook Medicine Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants are valuable members of the Cardiology Division providing essential clinical services to our patient population. We are seeking candidates to provide coverage of our clinical service in the outpatient setting based in Commack. Qualified candidates will demonstrate superior patient care and possess outstanding communication skills while adhering to our high standard of excellence. This position will be responsible for providing patient care at our Commack site. Under the direction and supervision of a licensed physician, this health care professional will provide health care to patients. Duties include: Perform clinical evaluations of patients which may involve histories, physical examinations, and laboratory testing. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Counsel and advise patients and their families. Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Nurse Practitioner:

Current NYS RN license. Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in nursing from an accredited school. NYS license as an adult/family Nurse Practitioner. AANP/ANCC certification. Physician Assistant:

Current NYS Physician Assistant license. Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in physician assistant studies from an accredited school. NCCPA Certification. Must possess excellent oral, verbal, and written communication skills; customer service/interpersonal skills, problem-solving, organizational skills, time management skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

At least one year of clinical experience working as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Previous experience working in cardiology. Application Instructions
