What is NextGen? NextGen is a community of energetic, passionate peers aged 25-45 years-old who want to build a stronger Jewish community for the future as they grow their families and careers through shared values. NextGen is a critical strategy in Federation’s desire to serve as an engager and convener. Greater MetroWest, NJ has built an exciting and growing NextGen cohort within our Federation and we are looking to perpetuate and grow this momentum. The ideal candidate is a professional who is ready to help us to continue to create and develop new leaders and committed donors.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Continue leading the growth for outreach, engagement, solicitation and leadership development of NextGen including one-on-one relationship building, event planning and management, exploration of key markets and constituencies and the establishment of key community partners.
Manage the budget and a team of professionals (one manager and an administrative assistant).
Coordinate, maintain and support a comprehensive lay leadership structure including NextGen Co-Chairs and Campaign Chairs, event chairs, etc.
Manage a volunteer structure that furthers the goals of the department (i.e.: service and volunteerism, young families, business networking etc.)
Develop strategies around leadership development, Federation education and leadership succession for this cohort as well as serve as a key thought partner and recruiter in national young leadership programs and strategies (NYL Cabinet)
Steward the National Young Leadership Cabinet delegation and help to further grow participation from our community.
Alongside a team of lay leaders, continue leading the growth of this NextGen campaign including the implementation and execution of fundraising models that maximize the number of people contributing to the Federation's UJA Annual Campaign.
In conjunction with the Mission’s Director, plan and lead educational travel mission(s) that connect young donors with the Federation's overseas work and connect them back to Greater MetroWest, NJ.
Understand and meet the needs of lay leaders, the young adult community and the Greater MetroWest community.
Work collaboratively with other departments of the Federation (including Women’s Philanthropy, Jewish Community Foundation, Community Engagement, Marketing, etc.) as well as other programs such as PJ Library, One Happy Camper and synagogues, etc.
REQUIREMENT SKILLS & ABILITIES Areas of discipline: management, event strategy, understanding of marketing and communications
Charismatic individual that will draw and engage young adults
Futuristic thinker and executor who will continuously create the next level of achievement
Driven and determined leader who creates momentum and positive energy
Mirror the Federation’s values of ‘be a mensch,’ have integrity, be collaborative, community-minded, passionate, resourceful and accountable
Prior successes working in the young adult space is a plus
Experience working with strategic plans and goal setting
Fundraising experience is required and the ability to increase the giving of the segment in donor numbers and dollars
Prior supervisory experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and social media
Must possess strong written and oral communications skills
Work some evenings and weekends and be open to international travel opportunities
PREFERRED SKILLS A passion for working in the Jewish community
Familiarity with and understanding of the Greater MetroWest community and/or National Jewish community is a plus
