Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

As a CFO with this CFS client, you will provide visionary financial and organizational leadership, ensuring financial health and driving strategic goals. This role is perfect for a dynamic leader who thrives on making an impact.
The CFO will be a strategic partner to the CEO and will present financial information to the Board of Directors and senior leadership.
CFO Responsibilities
Direct and coordinate all activities of the Finance department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Work closely with the President/CEO, Board of Directors, and senior leaders to guide financial strategy and monitor business impacts. Establish and maintain robust financial policies and internal controls, setting a high standard of financial integrity. Lead and coordinate budget planning across departments, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Present financial information to key stakeholders, including the Board of Directors, senior leadership, and external partners. Develop strong relationships with external auditors, banking and finance communities, and key suppliers. Assess and enhance the finance team's effectiveness, ensuring appropriate staffing and development. Collaborate with the VP IT and Director on ERP system upgrades, providing leadership as needed.
Ideal CFO Profile
Must have held the CFO title for a minimum of 5 years, depending on the size and scope of experience. Strong strategic thinker with a heart for mission and head for business. Willing to mentor direct reports to prepare them for expanded responsibilities. Tech-savvy, experienced with automations, and comfortable leading change.
CFO Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Licensed Certified Public Accountant. 10+ years of financial leadership experience. Cost accounting experience in manufacturing, government contracting, or related fields. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
CFO Preferences
Experience with board presentations and dealing with many personalities. Nonprofit mindset preferred; transition from for-profit to nonprofit to give back to the community. Familiarity with government contracting and multifaceted business operations. Experience working in environments with revenue around or above $100 million annually.
Compensation
Up to $225,000.00, depending on experience. Bonus eligible. Benefits offered.
