Job Description Boston University’s award-winning division of External Affairs seeks a Senior Producer/Editor. The Senior Producer/Editor reports to the Executive Producer/Creative Director and is a senior member of the team of Producer/Editors within Boston University Productions. The individual is responsible for regularly producing high-quality, high-visibility, engaging video content firmly rooted in solid storytelling. The employee will be expected to work on high-level, complex productions and interact with executive-level leadership.
Required Skills
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree with 5-8 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree with 3-5 years of related work experience.
Demonstrate progressively responsible experience in a professional video editing/producing environment.
Advanced editing experience with non-linear systems such as Avid is required.
Must be able to deliver the best solution to find an approach to tell a story.
Be able to develop solutions for technical issues and optimize and improve best practices, workflow, and processes in production and post-production.
Remain current on the developments and applications of state-of-the-art video production technology.
The incumbent must have exceptional communication skills, the ability to put subjects at ease, and the ability to provide advanced creative direction.
A background in documentary-style video production is strongly preferred.
Communicate effectively with individuals and groups; write and speak clearly, concisely and effectively; meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
