EDPRNA DG is looking for an Investments and M&A Associate to join a high-paced team in its Project Finance Group. The Investments and M&A Associate will analyze strategic solar and storage investments (both acquisition and organic opportunities) for EDPR North America’s Distributed Generation business, working under the direction of the Associate Director for Investments and M&A. You will play an important role in evaluating project/portfolio economics, negotiating term sheets for new opportunities with external parties, and structuring transactions. You will be responsible for various workstreams related to transaction execution and will furthermore work to facilitate investment-related communications and decision-making within EDPRNA DG as well as other EDPRNA business units. Main responsibilities: Perform valuations and financial analyses of new and existing project/portfolio opportunities to determine profitability (and other key metrics) and assess risks of potential investments; Track regulatory and policy trends to support company investments; Maintain up-to-date and high-quality data on investment leads and active projects in internal company databases; Analyze project information, financial statements, and market structures/trends to produce high-quality written qualitative and quantitative analyses as well as recommendations to senior management; Support the origination of new acquisition opportunities and lead external-facing discussions focused on new business development; Perform project-level and portfolio-level due diligence for acquisition opportunities (including supporting review and analysis of legal contracts); Prepare investment memoranda to assist EDPR NA DG, and EDP decision-making bodies in making investment/divestment decisions; Track model and budgeted forecasts relative to actual data; Communicate directly with and support requests from EDPR NA DG operations and asset management teams; Participate in various EDPR NA DG group initiatives and special projects; and Additional duties as required. New York, NY Minimum Qualifications: 2-5 years of financial analysis, risk-adjusted valuation, project management, or experience in the energy sector. Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or another quantitatively rigorous field of study. Hands-on knowledge of valuation and financing modelling of renewable energy projects. Understanding of Microsoft products and/or complementing products preferred; Highly proficient knowledge of Excel (Visual Basic a plus), Word, and PowerPoint. Competency in analytical problem solving, strong communication skills, ability to nurture and maintain strong customer/partner relationships, and technology expertise preferred. Travel:
