The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in complex civil litigation, construction, and personal injury matters. This role involves evaluating cases, strategizing, drafting legal documents, supervising junior staff, and providing exceptional client service. The Senior Associate Attorney will also be responsible for managing discovery, preparing for depositions and court hearings, and ensuring compliance with firm and client billing requirements. Duties: Independently evaluate cases, provide recommendations, and offer support throughout the litigation process. Communicate effectively with clients, counsel, and the senior managing partner. Strategize and recommend legal actions, including propounding and responding to discovery requests. Perform legal research, draft legal memoranda, and supervise junior attorneys in these tasks. Draft and prepare complaints, motions, and other pleadings and legal documents. Evaluate, draft, and argue dispositive motions. Prepare for, take, and defend depositions of percipient, party, and expert witnesses. Prepare for and attend court hearings and mediation sessions. Supervise junior attorneys and paralegal staff in trial and arbitration preparation. Provide excellent service to all clients and ensure their needs are met. Become familiar with and comply with billing and reporting requirements of the firm, clients, and insurance carriers. Requirements: At least 3 years of legal experience in complex civil litigation, construction, and personal injury matters. In good standing with the California State Bar; licensure in other states is a plus. Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school. Certifications: Admission to the California State Bar; additional state licensure is a plus. Skills: Strong analytical and case evaluation skills. Excellent research and writing abilities. Strong oral advocacy skills and familiarity with rules of evidence. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
