About the Position: We are working with a Midwest-based Am Law firm that has an immediate need for an experienced intellectual property litigation paralegal (7+ yrs) to join its Chicago office. This position plays a critical role in supporting the cutting-edge IP group and assisting in the management of complex cases in Federal courts and before various agencies. This full-service practice represents clients across a range of industries in the US and internationally. Highlights: • Opportunity to collaborate directly with attorneys on significant federal court cases • Exposure to the full lifecycle of IP litigation, from case preparation to trial support • Firm was recognized as a “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality” by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index Responsibilities: • Assist in managing and organizing complex IP cases from inception to conclusion, ensuring timely updates to case files and deadlines • Conduct legal research using platforms like Westlaw, LEXIS, and PACER, analyzing statutes, regulations, and case precedents to support litigation strategy • Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents, including motions, briefs, and affidavits, ensuring proper Bluebooking and cite checking • Coordinate document review and production, leveraging eDiscovery systems like Relativity and CaseMap • Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness lists, and managing courtroom technology • Maintain thorough and accurate records of billable hours Required Qualifications: • 7 or more years of relevant experience in intellectual property litigation • Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved school preferred • Expertise in legal research, document management, and eDiscovery platforms (e.g., Relativity, West Case Notebook) • Strong attention to detail, communication, and critical thinking skills • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines
